Thank you Temple Beth Shalom

A big thank you to the charity team at Temple Beth Shalom for sewing 28 quilts this year! They get together annually for a day of charity (Tikkun Olam) and this is the third year in a row they've sewn quilts for Wrap Them in Roses. Thank you Judy Weinberg for organizing this event! This year we've got a lot of pictures from them, which are posted here. It's wonderful to see the faces of all the kind people who showed up and put in their time for this event. Thank you, thank you!!

Judy Weinberg comes through again!

It is the third year in a row that Judy Weinberg has volunteered her group at Temple Beth Shalom in Needham to sew isolette quilts for Wrap Them in Roses. We are so grateful for their continued help, they are a kind and supportive group. Judy, I believe your Tikkun Olam charity event day is coming up in early April and I hope everything goes well. Their goal is to sew 30 quilts! Thank you so much!

Material Girls Follow Up

I also just realized that I never articulated the results of the Material Girls efforts last year. As a reminder, Mary Jane Handy from the Material Girls quilting group heard about the initiative to provide 250 quilts to the Blair Batson Children's Hospital in Mississippi. Again, she reached out to the generous sewers within her guild and I don't think there was a quilter in that group that didn't get involved in making a quilt. When they had completed the 250+ quilts (I believe the final tally was closer to 300, correct me if I'm wrong Mary Jane), they invited Keira and I up to their end of season banquet where we had a special celebration to showcase the pyramid of boxes of quilts that the group had put together. It was unbelievable and we were so awestruck by the effort. Sewing the quilts was one thing, and then getting those boxes down to Mississippi was another, and effort involving a lot of emails using words like pallet, shrink wrap, drop ship, etc. Needless to say, the quilts arrived and are being given out to the families and premature babies in the hospital. Tenderly and lovingly! Thank you so much Mary Jane and the Material Girls Quilters.

Marcella Pirner-Cormier - Thank you!!!

The quilting continues, I'm always amazed by the tireless efforts of our volunteers both in Massachusetts and Mississippi and many other places as well. I'd like to thank Marcella Pirner-Cormier, one of the Material Girls Quilting queens up in Leominster (MA) for donating fabric and making 47 additional quilts. Marcella has already contributed in the past in many way, making quilts on her own, contributing to the larger material girls efforts and now this :) Thank you so much Marcella for leading this initiative, you are incredibly industrious and kind. (And, your labels are on their way.)
